Simple Sundays

Simple Sunday

“I’ve never liked philosophers. They make it all seem grand and simple, and then you walk out into a world filled with complications.” -Terry Pratchett, Thief Of Time

“I have often had the impression that, to penguins, man is just another penguin, different, less predictable, occasionally violent, but tolerable company when he just sits and minds his own business.” -Bernard Stonehaus

“Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.” -George Bernard Shaw

  1. I really enjoy quotes and like to use them on occasion. Distillations of experience. These are a few that I’ve thought about recently.

    G. K. Chesterton said, ” The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and left untried.”

John Steinbeck said, “If you’re in trouble, or hurt or need – go to the poor people. They’re the only ones that’ll help – the only ones.” I find this interesting when I think of promises by politicians.

And I like this one, mainly because I made it up. I’d mumble it repeatedly when my working days got frustrating. “Every day has an evening.”
